Getting Started
You will need an IRC chat program (such as one of the ones below) to connect to FurNet IRC. If you already have IRC installed just enter in the information below or click this link and join today!
- Server: irc.furnet.org:6667
- Channel: #furaffinity
Troubleshooting
It won't let me join./It says I need a registered nick to join.
In order to prevent flooding and abuse, #furaffinity sometimes requires users to register their username with Nickserv before joining the channel.
Please don't bother the FurNet administration about "giving you access to the chat." Furnet is a large IRC network and they won't know what the hell you're talking about.
Register Your Username
To register, simply type in: /msg nickserv register your_desired_password your@email.address.
You only need to do this once.
Identifying Your Username
Once registered, you will need identify your username before re-joining the channel. This can be done typing in: /msg nickserv identify your_password. You will need to do this every time you connect to the network. Some clients can automate this process. Please check your client's documentation for further instructions.
